Salisbury is in Merrimack County approximately 10 miles north of Concord. The population is 1,382 (2010 census). Salisbury Heights is a cluster of classic colonial homes and the old meeting house now housing the Historical Society. Salisbury “Four Corners” is home to the Crossroad Store and the Congregational Christian Church. The rest of the town is rural residential area with fields and woods.
The Blackwater River, part of the Merrimack River watershed, runs through Salisbury. “The Bays” where the river widens into a natural lake-like section offers fishing and recreation area. Parts of the western part of town are a part of the Blackwater Flood Control system and roads are subject to periodic closing. Floodplain area offers public access to trails for hiking, fishing, and hunting.
