The New Hampshire Real Estate Transfer Tax (RETT) is the tax rate assessed on the sale, granting, and/or transfer of real estate and any interest therein. The tax is imposed on both the buyer and the seller at the rate of $.75 per $100 of the price or consideration of the real estate, for a combined tax rate of $1.50 per $100.
In our example we will be using $300,000 as the purchase price of the property.
And the typical scenario that the NH transfer tax is split between buyer and seller (unless otherwise negotiated).
Feel free to change the value of the field below based on your purchase price, and the calculator will do the rest!
$ x 1.5% / 2 = $2250
How we got there:
$300,000 x 1.5% = $4,500 (combined tax rate of $1.50 per $100)
$4,500 / 2 = $2,250 (tax rate split [$.75 per $100] between buyer/seller)
